Important Update on 'Cuegrass 2020:

We’re shakin’ things up this year with a virtual fundraiser for local charities!

Our mission at The Pit – and all the Empire Eats Restaurants – is to feed our community every day. Great food and great hospitality are at the core of who we are and what we do. Our devotion to feeding our neighbors is why the issues of childhood hunger and food insecurity are so important to us.

We made the decision to postpone Cuegrass in March of 2020, when COVID-19 was sweeping the world and it was clear there was no end in sight. With area schools and food pantries closed because of the pandemic, our first round of ‘Cuegrass fundraising went virtual right away. An enormous outpouring of generosity came from the community, and in a few weeks we were able to raise $11,000 for SAFEchild, Ligon Middle School’s Food Ark, the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC, and the Junior League of Raleigh’s BackPack Buddies Program.

Now that the coronavirus has claimed our September back-up date, there is still so much work to do. We have launched another virtual fundraiser to support more local organizations doing amazing work despite the unique challenges of 2020: Read & Feed, Scout Troop/Pack 325B-325G, and Team Chris Combs to Strike Out ALS.

Please help us by donating anything you can to support those in need in our community. For the greatest impact, Empire Eats will match your donation, dollar for dollar, for the entire month of September.

Thanks for your support, we can't wait to see you again soon!
